Catering for 50 to 100 people Auckland
Above fifty people, the thing that goes wrong isn't the food. It's the queue. One table with everything on it means the last twenty people get picked-over leftovers and a twelve-minute wait.
Set up two tables
Split the order across two serving points at opposite ends of the room, each with the same mix of boxes. It halves the queue, and it costs nothing. This is the single most useful thing you can do at this size.
The maths
Each box feeds 8–10 people.
- 60 people — 6 to 8 boxes, $780 to $1,120
- 80 people — 8 to 10 boxes, $1,040 to $1,400
- 100 people — 10 to 12 boxes, $1,300 to $1,680
Still $13.00 to $18.75 a head. The per-head cost doesn't climb with volume, which is worth knowing when you're comparing against a plated option.
Mix the formats
At eighty people you want at least four different boxes in the order. Fresh rolls, bánh mì, bao and bowls across the spread means people assemble a plate rather than eating four of the same thing. The mixed boxes are built for this.
Dietary at scale
In a room of eighty, assume eight to ten vegetarians, two or three avoiding gluten. Make two of your boxes the dietary boxes, label them, and put them at the front of each table so nobody has to hunt.
Ordering
Order by 7pm the day before, and give us a heads-up earlier if you can at this size. Delivery is approximately $2 per kilometre with a $20 minimum, within 12km of Sylvia Park, St Lukes or Botany. Email catering@rolld.nz and we'll build the order with you rather than leaving you to count boxes.
