Funeral catering Auckland
Organising food is the last thing anyone wants to think about in the days after a death, and it still has to happen. People come back to a house or a hall after the service and they need feeding.
What we can do is make that one phone call instead of five.
What works
A box arrives ready. Nothing needs heating, nothing needs serving, nothing needs a kitchen. It goes on a table and people help themselves while they talk, which is what actually happens at a wake rather than a sit-down meal.
Each box feeds 8–10 people. For a gathering of forty, four boxes covers it; for a hundred, ten to twelve. Fresh rolls hold well on a table for a couple of hours, which matters when people arrive in waves.
Timing
Being straight with you: we need the order by 7pm the day before. If the service is tomorrow and you're reading this tonight, call your closest store directly rather than ordering online — Sylvia Park, St Lukes or Botany — and the team will tell you honestly whether they can do it.
Dietary
At a funeral you don't know who's coming or what they can eat. Vegetarian builds are available across every box, and we can do vegan, gluten friendly and halal-sourced versions — say so when you order and we'll label the boxes clearly so nobody has to ask.
Ordering
Boxes are $130 to $150 each. Delivery is approximately $2 per kilometre with a $20 minimum, within 12km of your chosen store. Pickup is free. For anything you'd rather talk through, email catering@rolld.nz.
