Wedding catering Auckland
We're not a plated-service wedding caterer. No waiters, no carving station, no seating plan. What we do is the four other meals a wedding needs and nobody plans for.
The morning
Six people in a room getting ready since 8am, hair and makeup running late, and a dress that can't take a spill. Fresh rolls are the right food for that hour: cold, clean, eaten standing up, no grease. A box of 45 minis at $130 covers the bridal party and the photographer, with leftovers for whoever turns up.
The rehearsal dinner
Usually the least formal meal of the weekend and the one most likely to be at someone's house. Mixed boxes across fresh rolls, bánh mì and bao give a room of twenty something to pick at without anyone cooking.
The reception
We do get asked, so here's the honest version. We can supply the food for a casual or grazing-style reception — boxes laid out as a spread, guests serving themselves, no staff on site. It works well for a relaxed marquee, a backyard, or a venue where you're bringing your own food. It doesn't work for a seated three-course wedding breakfast, and we won't pretend otherwise. If that's what you're after, you want a full-service caterer.
Late night and the day after
Midnight food is the thing guests remember. Mini bánh mì come out at 11pm and disappear in about four minutes. And for the next-day brunch with the family who flew in, bowls and rolls beat another round of hotel eggs.
The dietary problem
Weddings are where the dietary list gets ugly. Every box can be built vegetarian, three can be built vegan, three can be built gluten friendly (no gluten-containing ingredient, though the kitchen isn't a gluten-free one), and chicken and duck come from halal suppliers if that matters — our kitchen isn't halal certified.
Ordering
Each box feeds 8–10 at $130 to $150, which is $13.00 to $18.75 a head. Order by 7pm the day before. Delivery is approximately $2 per kilometre with a $20 minimum, within 12km of Sylvia Park, St Lukes or Botany.
